The initiative “LettuceKnow, Science-Based Improvement of Salad” seeks to position lettuce as a model crop for study in plant resilience and architecture. The LettuceKnow program commenced in 2019 and will extend to 2025. It is organized by 12 universities and funded by seven vegetable breeding industries and an NWO-TTW Perspective grant (the video below is in Dutch with English subtitles). The program was established to facilitate synergistic collaboration between university and industry researchers and contains all the necessary components to achieve the goals.
